Middle East
Ancient stories, timeless landscapes.
Plan my Middle East journey →Ancient stories, timeless landscapes.
From the rose-red city of Petra to the pyramids of Giza, from Oman's turquoise wadis to the futuristic skyline of the UAE — the Middle East is a region of extraordinary contrasts and remarkable warmth.
Our Middle East specialists have crossed the Wahiba Sands by 4x4, camped in Wadi Rum's Martian landscapes and dined in Bedouin family tents from the Sinai to the Empty Quarter. That local knowledge — and long-standing relationships — unlocks the private access, family-run camps and quieter corners that make a Middle Eastern journey unforgettable.
Every itinerary balances the region's iconic sites with genuine cultural encounters — a private lecture at the Grand Egyptian Museum, dinner with a Jordanian family in a Petra village, a falconry masterclass in the Empty Quarter.

Unmissable experiences.
A curated selection of the Middle East experiences our specialists love most — every one of them fully customisable inside a private, bespoke itinerary.
Petra & Wadi Rum
Enter Petra at dawn through the Siq, then camp in Wadi Rum's Martian landscape under a Bedouin-run luxury desert camp.
The Pyramids & the Nile
Explore the Giza Plateau with an Egyptologist, then cruise the Nile between Luxor and Aswan aboard a restored dahabiya.
Oman's Wadis & Deserts
Snorkel with turtles at Ras al-Jinz, cross the Sharqiya Sands and stay in Alila Jabal Akhdar's mountain retreat.
AlUla & Diriyah
Saudi Arabia's newly-accessible archaeological wonders — Hegra's Nabataean tombs and the historic mud-brick quarter of Diriyah.
Dubai & Abu Dhabi
Ultra-modern design hotels, world-class dining and the Empty Quarter's dunes just a short drive from town.
Israel & the Sinai
Jerusalem's old city, Masada at sunrise, the Dead Sea, Bedouin encampments in the Sinai and Red Sea reef diving.

When to visit Middle East.
October to April is the classic Middle East window — warm days, cool nights, no summer heat. Avoid June to August in Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf. Oman's mountains stay pleasant year-round.
Practical information
Getting the most from your journey.
Getting there
Doha, Dubai and Abu Dhabi are major global hubs. Direct flights connect Amman, Cairo, Muscat and Riyadh from London and other capitals.
Best time
October–April for the Levant, Gulf and North Africa. Mountain regions (Oman's Jebel Akhdar, Saudi's Asir) are cooler year-round.
Visas
e-Visas available for Jordan, Egypt, Oman, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Straightforward for most nationalities.
Cultural notes
Modest dress in religious sites. Ramadan alters opening hours — plan around it or embrace the atmosphere with your specialist's guidance.
